As we’re growing up, we get taught a lot of things by both our parents and society. Sometimes they align, a lot of the time they don’t, but that doesn’t mean we don’t internalise a few maladaptive behaviours we’d much rather do without. If we want to stay more positive for ourselves and others in our daily lives, we’re going to need to unlearn some harmful thoughts and behaviours that make living a more negative experience. Here’s a few things you might want to take some time to consider.
Remember that Rules Don’t Really Exist
When we’re taught as children by teachers that there’s a right and wrong way to complete in class tasks, we need to let that go as adults. Of course we have laws to abide by, they’re in place for a reason, but those unofficial little stop offs we constantly warned about? We need to let them go.
If you want to go about something, try out a way you think would work, but also take others’ viewpoints into account. Everybody is different, so if you can’t pass a driving test because you’re using the apparent ‘stress free’ advice of someone else, come up with your own solution.
It’s Not Bad to Try and Tap into Other Energy
We’re a society of critics and cynical people, and that means if we try something that’s a little ‘alternative’ for some, we get frowned at and looked down on. However, trying out something new because you believe in it, or you think it’d help you isn’t something that’s bad to do. Don’t let others’ opinions ruin your need to become more compassionate and loving with yourself and others.
Believing that energy we can’t see or don’t usually use for anything other than domestic or commercial purposes is more and more common in the modern era, so don’t be worried that other people don’t seem to understand your journey. Getting introduced to your own psychic energy and how it can affect you is made a lot smoother with services and guides on places like psychic light, so if you have no idea where to start, be sure to look out for some help.
Know that You’re Allowed to Fail
It’s a huge misconception that failures make you a bad person, or mean you can’t do something. Practice makes perfect is the golden rule for a reason! It doesn’t matter if you’ve failed four, five, or six times in a row; you’re still learning and wanting to do something, and that’s all that matters.
Take some time to let yourself rethink the situation and keep trying. Skill comes in waves after you’ve perfected your talent, and it’s not an easy ride.
It’s going to take time, and you’re always going to be unlearning something you’ve accidentally internalised. But that’s life, and what it’s all about. Living happy and fulfilled doesn’t have to come at a price, and a lot of the time you can do it just fine for yourself.
