Care For Your Feet
Your feet, it should go without saying, are the most important part of the body when it comes to running, and what this means is that you have to take care of them. There are a few things in particular that you can do to ensure this is happening. For one thing, you might want to look into whether you need any podiatry work done. If so, it is best to do that before you go running regularly. Beyond that, just ensure that you are stretching them out, wearing the right shoes, and so on.
Wear Appropriate Clothing
That leads us nicely to the next point, which is all about the importance of wearing the right clothing. The shoes are obviously the most important part of all, but they are not all that matters. You are also going to need to wear the right vest and running shorts and so on too. If you don’t, you might have chafing and even injuries to contend with, especially once you start running with some regularity. Take It Slow
Although you might be brimming with that energy that a beginner always has for a new project, you need to make sure that you are looking after yourself too. And the best way to do that is to take it slow – in other words, don’t try to run 5K on your first day! You need to ease yourself into these goals, otherwise injury is surely going to happen for you.
