Are you not sure if you are ready for marriage? Maybe you want to commit to the other person, but you just aren’t sure if it’s the right decision for you. Either way, you need to make sure that you take your time when making that all-important decision. If you don’t then you may end up regretting it.

You are Able to Love Yourself

You cannot be happy with somebody else unless you are entirely happy with yourself. Sure, your partner will be there to support you when you are upset but at the end of the day, marriage is about joining your life together with someone else’s. It’s also about not giving up, and for this reason, you need to feel comfortable in your own skin. If you aren’t then you may be trying to fill the voids in your life by looking to your partner. This won’t do you any good in the long-term and you may even find that you experience issues later down the line.

You’re Comfortable Communicating

Communication is a huge component of successful relationships. Whether it involves arguments, sharing vulnerabilities, or deciding what you want to eat for dinner, effective communication is the key. If you’re able to communicate together with respect and an open mind, this is a  great sign that you’ve found someone you could potentially spend a life-time with.

You Prioritize Each Other

Life happens. Work happens. Family happens. Things come up. Do you find yourself last on their schedule? Do you find yourself making them last on yours? If you’re prioritizing each other and supporting each other through the time you have so far – this is a great sign that you will continue to do so if you decide to get married.

Your Friends Agree

Nobody knows you better than your family and friends. If they are telling you that it’s time to move forward with your relationship then this is a big sign of approval. If they are constantly raising red flags or if they aren’t sure if you have found the one, then it’s worth listening to them. If you don’t then you may end up overlooking crucial points about your spouse’s personality and this is the last thing that you need.

You’re on the Same Page

Do you find that you and your partner are on the same page about a lot of things? Maybe you know that you both want kids, or even that you have the same vision of your house together. Either way, it’s important to make sure that you are both on the same page with the big stuff. If you are both agreed that you want children, but later find out that one of you isn’t able to, it helps to talk about what would happen in this instance as well. This is just one example, but it raises an important point. You need to be on the same page regarding your life now as well as what your life could look like in the future. If you know that it is going to be hard for you to have children then it’s a good idea for you to look into a fertility clinic.

You’re a Dynamic Duo

It doesn’t matter whether you are teaming up with the groceries or whether you are putting together a piece of flat-packed furniture because if there are times when you feel as though you could take on the world then this just goes to show that you are right for one another.

You Don’t Threaten to Leave

A lot of people threaten to leave when they get into an argument. The main reason for this is because it’s an effective way to get a reaction. If you are constantly doing this then it may be that you haven’t found the one. After all, if you have then you wouldn’t want to even think about leaving them, and that you are always willing to work with them to try and resolve any situation. After all, this is what you will have to do when you get married so if you can’t do it now then this doesn’t show much hope for the future.
