What are our feelings trying to tell us?

Are you the type of person to ignore your feelings? Do you try and push them to the back burner and deal with them later, or worse, not at all?

We all have feelings, they are a part of us for a very important reason. They are the heart and soul of the human body. Without feelings, you would just be an empty shell of a person.  Feelings determine our personal expression and our individuality. They make us who we are.

Imagine how boring it would be if we all thought the same and acted the same. Hopefully, this subject will make you think a little longer about bottling up your feelings at any given moment.

Have you ever thought that maybe you are missing out on some very important things in your life, things that are meant for you to go through, simply because you avoid trying to “feel” them?

A few reasons why feelings can be so important:

Feelings can motivate you to follow through with anything in your life. Your work, your relationships, your friends, your passions! If you are passionate about something, listening to your feelings will only fuel the fire.  And, this can lead you down a path of self-discovery finding your true purpose in life. Finding your purpose in life is the most important thing that can happen to you. Always pay attention to how you feel, it is your heart and soul speaking to you.

Feelings enable empathy in your life. The ability to feel what others are feeling will give you a better understanding and appreciation of them. It will enable you to relate to others on a higher level and communicate more effectively. This in turn, allows for more kindness, patience and love in your life. Many things would not be understood unless you can feel what others are feeling.

Feelings are connected directly to your intuition and intuition is your body telling you how you feel in certain situations whether good or bad. When you are feeling difficulties within your mind and body, your feelings can be like a hunch or a warning system for you. If you are feeling happy, sad, depressed, or scared, your feelings are feedback on what is going on inside of you. Feeling them fully will give you a better understanding of yourself and the reasons why are you feeling that way. They will talk to you in a sense and help you move towards things that really mean something to you.

We have all heard the term “Feeling things ever so deeply can be both a blessing and a curse in disguise ” And naturally, we all have good and bad feelings, but also recognize that feeling everything is what makes us beautifully human.

Feeling things deeply will enable you to live your life in a more meaningful way. A blessing and a curse is true in both cases, but feelings are necessary in order for us to continue to express ourselves fully as individuals, enrich our lives and live a happy, fulfilling life experiencing the most we can from it.

And most importantly… “feel your life while you are living it.” – N.R.Hart
