Isn’t it ironic how we are quick to trust others and yet we struggle to trust ourselves? I know there are many of us who are guilty of this, I know I am. I’ve always doubted myself. Even when I was sure I was right, I haven’t trusted myself enough to say so. This attitude just landed up damaging my self-confidence.
When you lack self-confidence, you turn into a timid version of yourself, a version which doesn’t do justice to the wonderful person you are. It took a painful event for me to realise that I had to trust myself and my judgement. While I wouldn’t wish that upon anyone, I do wish each one of you learns to trust yourself.
Having been through this journey all I would like to say is this – trust yourself and believe in your gut. Very often we rely on what we see and hear, logic rules us. When it’s not logic, it’s our hearts. But sometimes there is more than meets the eye and our minds and hearts can be wrong.
So when your inner-self talks, listen. It knows. When something or someone feels wrong, maybe they are. Learning to trust yourself may be a slow process but the results will exceed your wildest expectations and you will find peace and happiness in the knowledge that you can trust yourself.
