You are Not What Happened to You

Abuse is a loaded word and it can therefore mean different things to different people. Abuse in any form be it physical or mental, is something that affects us on a fundamental level. And often it taints us in ways we may not even realise.

So this article is about you, not about what you went through because no one will ever know what you felt. This article is about you, the survivor.

Let me begin by telling you, you are strong.

You are worthy. No one can make you feel any less of yourself until you let them.

You are not what happened to you.

Your past is just that, your past. So move forward and conquer.

You have overcome something you never thought you would. Don’t you see your strength?

Believe in yourself.  You are enough.
