If you are not losing weight, then there could be a few reasons why. Not losing weight when you are doing everything you can, can be frustrating. That being said, there are things that you can do to try and make things easier for yourself while also making positive choices that go on to benefit you in the future.

Your Gut is Stopping You

Research has shown time and time again just how important your biome is. This is the collection of bacteria that is in your gut. If you want to do everything you can to rectify this, then you need to try and increase the amount of prebiotics that you have in your diet. Prebiotics are essentially a type of fiber and they help to feed the bacteria in your gut. You can take all of the probiotic drinks you want, but if you do not have prebiotics in your system, then you may find that you do not end up getting the result you want. If you want to turn things around then simply try and boost your vegetable intake as well as your fruit intake.

This post should help you if you are having a hard time with your diet.

Genetics

It is a very tough reality to face, but at the end of the day, it may not be possible for you to choose the body shape or the body type you want if you do not have the right genetics. Some people gain weight very quickly, and others lose it quickly. If you do not want to gain weight again, as you have put so much effort into losing it, then you have to eat fewer calories, but do it slowly. You do not want to be losing more than 10% of your body weight in six months. Knowledge can be positive here too, so make sure that you get your cholesterol levels checked and that you also undergo a blood pressure and blood sugar check. It may be that you have certain things that are working against your body, but this can be avoided if you take the right steps.

You’re Losing Muscle

As you get older, you may find that your body starts to suffer. You will lose around 3% of your muscle every 10 years after you hit 30. If you want to try and avoid this, then you need to change up your workout routine so you can make sure that you are not missing out too much. Do a workout that helps to correspond with your body. If you can do this, then you will soon see that things work in your favor.

Your Medication is Interfering

Some health medications will cause you to gain weight and others will cause you to lose it. If you want to do something about this, then you need to take the time to understand the medication you are on and how it is going to affect you overall. If you can do this, then you will soon be able to work around the effects.
