We have all had friends throughout our lives. Throughout the years I have learned that there are different “tiers” of friends. I’ve realized that a lot of my “friends” were just acquaintances, not friends. These are the type of friends that come to you when they need something.

They come to you when they want your help. The 2nd tier of friends are friends you may have had in school. These people are the ones that only give you the time of day when you run into them at school. When you see them in public they act like you don’t even exist.

The 3rd tier is the people that you’ve just met and hopes to become lifelong friends. The 4th and final tier is the friends that are always there for you no matter what. It doesn’t matter if you just met them or if you’ve known them for 10+ years. These people are the ones that check up on you every day, take 30 minutes out of their day to come over and visit, give you the strength you need to keep going, and so much more. This article will be focusing on that 4th tier!

Here are 7 ways that you and your friends can keep your relationship strong:

Uplifting Morning Message

My friends send me a message via Facebook Messenger or text to encourage me to have a good day. This may seem too simple but you never know how much it can make a person’s day.

Send You Gifts

Some of my friends like to send my gifts or cards. Some cards that I have received include an inspirational message/quote in their handwriting. Sometimes I receive a care package in the mail. Whenever I receive anything of this sort, large or small, I cherish it. This helps me remember just how loved I am.

Write You Letters

Sometimes I will ask my friends to write me a letter for days when I’m feeling down. This way, whenever I feel down or need some encouragement, all I have to do is open a letter and it helps me feel so much better.

Your Favorite Food Arrives

Whether your friend brings your favorite food to you or the delivery guy unexpectedly knocks on your door with your favorite food in hand, you are likely to smile and feel special.

They Push You Out Of Your Comfort Zone

Sometimes we all need a push in the right direction. Your true friends will encourage you to do things that you don’t believe you can do. They will show you endless support and be there for you every step of the way.

Video Messages

You and your friend decide to video chat! This is a great way to stay in touch with your friends near and far.

Set Up A Get Together

Getting together with a group of friends is a great way to let loose and have fun! It doesn’t matter what you end up doing as long as you know everyone will have fun.

I hope that this list can provide you with ideas so that you can keep your relationship strong for many years to come!
