They say, “when it rains, it pours” and it’s often true. Sometimes it feels as though the world is falling apart all around you. In such situations it’s not unusual to panic or feel anxious. But some people (I used to be one of them, I’m slowly changing) live their lives partly inside and partly outside their shell, letting very few people in, talking to a select few and basically keeping interactions with others to the minimum; these are the ones who get literally thrown off course when faced with unexpected hardships. They just withdraw into their shell even more.

I like to call such people the “sensitive loners”. Any progress a sensitive loner makes is reduced to nothing when change in the for of unexpected situations and hardships arrives.

Whenever faced with obstacles the key to overcoming them, as clichéd as it may sound, is to remain positive. If your mind is strong the battle is almost won. Yes, I know it’s easier said than done, because it’s something I continually deal with.

Here are a few tips to staying positive:
1. Focus on the goal
The road may be difficult but if you want to reach your goal, just focus on it. Every time you want to give up remember your goal and how much you want it.

2. Trust yourself
This is something people struggle with. Yes, you can. Believe!

3. Try to see the lesson behind the situation
This is something I do. When I mess up, I take it as a stepping stone. I tell myself that if I hadn’t made the mistake, I wouldn’t know what I know now.

4. Be open to new things
When you keep an open mind you are more receptive to change.

5. Start you day doing the things that make you happy & smile more
For me, it’s reading or music. I can’t put down a book once I start so, I listen to music on the way to work.

When you open up to the universe, the universe opens up to you.

Smile!
