5 Steps to Help Break Out of Your Shell

The path to breaking out of your shell is often riddled with fear and anxiety. It’s just so difficult! Here are 5 steps to help to navigate through this maze of obstacles.

1. Believe in yourself
Trust yourself. You can do it. Things may seem impossible but always remember that you are capable of change. You are the only one who can change your life and yourself for the better.

2. Do things alone
The more you do things alone, the more confident you will become. It can be anything, from talking a walk or going shipping alone to going on a trip by yourself. Trust me, you will grow.

3. New experiences
Breaking out essentially means doing things you haven’t done before, so new experiences are the way to go. A new experience could be absolutely anything! A tattoo, bungee jumping, a new hobby…anything!

4. Meet new people
For introverts this is one of the most difficult things to do. Go out more, meet new people. Talk to them. Even if you make a fool of yourself, you have nothing to lose. Who knows? Maybe, just maybe, you may gain a friend.

5. Don’t let the opinion of others affect you
With change, its inevitable that the change will be noticed and nit everyone may appreciate the new you. And that, is ok. As long as you feel you are growing as a person, ignore any negative reactions. Learn to have faith in yourself.

Friends can always be roped in to help with this change. Just ask them.
